Stephen Granovsky, CEO of Luxury Men’s Apparel Group (LMAG) has announced the acquisition of Lipson, Canada’s premiere manufacturer of men’s dress shirts. Located in Toronto, this storied 60 year old business produces both the Lipson brand and private label merchandise, sold to over 200 stores across North America including Harry Rosen and Holt Renfrew.

LMAG has recruited the best management team in the business to run Lipson, led by Paul Lindzon who will invest as a partner and will become the new President. In addition, D’Arcy St.Pierre, formerly a senior executive at ShirtFit and an industry authority, will join as Executive Vice-President. Lui Sguazzin has been promoted to Vice-President, Sales. Jordan Lipson will be joining new parent company, LMAG, as Vice President, Special Projects. He will be relocating to LMAG’s Toronto office.

Paul Lindzon commented, “We intend to invest further in quality and design to develop Samuelsohn and Hickey Freeman dress shirts. Additionally, we will invest significantly to retrofit the facility to become North America’s finest custom shirt maker.” Culturata will continue to be manufactured in Italy.

“Samuelsohn and Lipson have both been suppliers of Harry Rosen for nearly 50 years. We think it’s terrific that LMAG has made this latest acquisition. They have proven very adept at revitalizing time-honoured brands and keeping jobs and the production of quality apparel in Canada,” says Larry Rosen, Chairman and CEO, Harry Rosen Inc.

This investment follows on LMAG’s recent, successful announcement to produce custom clothing in its Rochester, NY facility for Trunk Club. Trunk Club is the fastest growing alternative custom clothing and direct sales business model featuring By Appointment Only Club Houses. Lipson will become a strong option to complement Trunk Club’s offering.
